What a Wopper !

This 34 lb 8 oz pike was caught by Daniel (the owner's son) in March 2004 on Lake Windermere. It was big news locally and nationally in the Angling Times. Daniel would act as a local guide for fishermen trying to find the perfect spot to fish in the area for Trout, Bream, Tench, Perch and Pike. When guests come to stay with us we can provide fishing permits

Walking: We have a number of local walks such as Orrest Head which gives views over the whole of Lake Windermere and the very scenic Troutbeck Valley which is surrounded by hills rising to 2000ft. It also includes the last home of Beatrix Potter who was a local farmer as well as a great authoress. The hotel also owns a beach frontage which is open to residents. The walk there takes 15 mins and passes through woods and an Arabian Stud Farm.
